Classroom Guidelines:
Please ensure your children are aware of the following policies:
- Students must turn 6 years by the end of April 2024 to enroll in recorder class.
- Students must complete the Recorder Year 1 program before enrolling in Ukulele, Violin, Keyboard, Intro to Flute, or Recorder Year 2.
- Keyboard classes provide a 2-year program only.
- Ukulele class provides a 1-year program only.
- For senior students in instruments such as Saxophone, Cello, Violin, Trumpet, Flute, Clarinet, and Trombone, students are required to join the Orchestra or Concert band. Orchestra time is from 10 am to 10:40 am, and Concert band is from 11 am to 12 pm on Saturdays.
- All classes have limited spaces available.
- Instrument lessons may be canceled due to the teacher's unavailability, or not reaching the minimum number of enrollments, and any refunds will be applied at the beginning of term 1.
- Parents/Caregivers agree to allow Birkdale North Music Centre to use photos or videos of students taken during lessons, concerts, or performance events for training or promotional purpose, if you have any concerns regarding it please let the music school know.
- Please keep the disabled carparks available for people who need them.
- Refund of enrolment fees is only available where a family moves out of the North Shore area and is unable to continue the lessons, an admin fee $10 will be applied.
Classroom Guidelines:
Please ensure your children are aware of the following policies:
- No students allowed in the classroom if no teacher in classroom.
- No student siblings allowed in the class.
- No food or drink in classrooms, water bottles are ok.
- Please respect teachers break time of 10:40 am to 11:00 am (no students or parents to stay in classroom)
- Please take shoes off if it is a rainy day.
- Parents are welcome to wait in the hall foyer area.
- Please email your child's teacher if your child is going to be absent for music class.
- Helping teachers to set up for the first class and tidy the class up if is the last class would be appreciated.
- Please keep the classrooms tidy and do not touch Primary school properties such as toys, board games, teaching materials, pencils, students' artworks, TV screen, books... etc). We are only permitted to use tables and chairs in the classroom.
- Students will follow the teacher instructions and classroom guidelines, if a student is misbehaving or disrupting the class, the teacher has the right to ask the students to leave.
- If there is any class cancelation due to illness of teachers, the school will inform the parents by emails, please check emails before attending the music school.
