groups - orchestra, jazz band, theory class, and choir
|
Apart from the instrument lessons, we offer several groups as well. There are no additional fees for these.
We strongly recommend the students to take part in these groups, they get to be part of a group of students who are all learning how to play an instrument. Every member of the group is important and the group does not function without every member there. Students will learn about important values such as teamwork, dedication, responsibility and discipline. But most of all, it is fun making music together! |
OrchestraStudents who have studied an main instrument for at least two year are required to join the orchestra. Playing in the orchestra gives students a wonderful opportunity to use what they have learnt during their lessons and enjoy their instrument as an important part of a group. Our orchestra is a good basis for joining a bigger orchestra at college.
The students can enjoy playing together a huge variety of music from Mozart to Mission Impossible and from Haydn to The Hobbit. Theory ClassesTheory classes are available. The theory books are designed to understand music in a fun and age appropriate way.
During the class the students work in small groups at their own pace. Through games they also learn about notes, rhythm, treble and bass clef, etc. It is recommended that recorder level 1 students attend the "Music Theory for Recorder" class. |
CONCERT bandWe also have a Concert Band that students can join. Here they play a variety of different genres of music. If students feel they are not yet up to the level with their instrument, they can join and play one of the rhythm instruments that are available. Our Concert band forms a great head start for students when they want to join a band at college.
CHOIRAll our students aged 6 and over can join the choir without any experience in music. This gives students an excellent opportunity to learn more about rhythm and harmony and to develop their musicality. Moreover, it is a great way to meet other children and have a good time.
